Tunnel

The tunnel is slightly curved, so you can’t quite see from one end to the other. The eastern entrance was fairly overgrown both in 2005 and 2013 – long pants and good, waterproof boots recommended.

Inside, the tunnel is full of graffiti and rubbish – bring a strong torch.

The western end of the tunnel exits into quite a deep cutting.

July 2014 update

There’s been a massive clean-up at the tunnel – as of July 2014 you can easily access either end, though the graffiti is still rampant.
